Reasons for Pediatric Compounding
We aim to partner with families and health care providers to achieve meaningful outcomes for children's health. Working to reduce barriers and ensure all children have access to high quality customized medications to treat their needs.

Customized Dosing:
Our pharmacists are able to craft specially compounded treatments to adjust the strength of a medication to a precise, weight-based dose for a child, which may be much lower than the standard adult strength.

Alternate Dosage Forms:
Many children find it difficult to swallow pills, so compounding can convert a solid tablet into a more manageable form like a flavored gummy, syrups, and dissolvable lozenges.

Custom Flavors:
Compounded medications can be made in child-friendly flavors, such as grape, strawberry, or bubblegum to mask unpleasant tastes and encourage children to take their medicine.

Remove Allergens:
We can customize and prepare medications that are free from dyes, gluten, lactose, sugar, or other ingredients that your child many be sensitive or allergic to.

Availability:
Some medications are not commercially available in pediatric formulations, may be discontinued, or could be experiencing a drug shortage. Custom compounded medications accommodate these barriers.

Dietary Needs:
Specialized formulations can be created for children on specific diets, such as ketogenic diet for managing seizures.
